Introducing Aphrodite Training School of Counselling and Psychotherapy

Welcome to a different kind of training experience.

Aphrodite Training School was created with one clear purpose—to offer an inclusive, supportive, and empowering learning environment where every student can thrive. After 17 years working in childcare and education, supporting individuals of all abilities, I saw how powerful it is when teaching is adapted to meet the learner, rather than expecting the learner to fit the system.

I went on to qualify as a counsellor and supervisor, and began teaching and developing programmes for counselling students. Time and time again, I saw capable, passionate individuals struggle with traditional academic expectations—especially those who are neurodivergent or new to academic writing.

As someone who is dyslexic, I understand those challenges personally. But I also understand the strengths that come with thinking differently—strong emotional intelligence, the ability to retain and process information deeply, and to see the bigger picture.

At Aphrodite, we recognise and value those strengths.

Our training is designed to support a range of learning styles, with adapted assignments and teaching approaches that allow every student the opportunity to succeed. Whether you are academic, hands-on, or learn best through experience and reflection, you will be supported here.

Because we believe counselling is not just about academic ability—it’s about connection, understanding, and growth.
